While in the Marine Corps I was a diesel mechanic and stationed in California. I became friends with the locals and got involved into the lowrider scene. Since I was a mechanic I was able to get really involved on customizing cars. Two of the cars that we completed were the centerfold in Lowrider Magazine, one below is called Dirty Money. This car we stripped down to bare metal and built it from ground up. It was expensive and time consuming but it was well worth it. Working on these cars is more than a hobby it's a lifestyle. You become a family with fellow owners without even meeting them. Since moving back to Virginia I have no fun at all! There are few types of lowridres out here that I have noticed. Eventually I will start a new project and continue to have my fun.
Hi Matthew,
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet you. That's cool that you were in the Marine Corps. What did you think of the experience? Your work with cars is also very interesting. It must feel satisfying to work on a project, watch it develop, and look at the beautiful final product. I hope you continue to develop your talent in Virginia and post some more pictures of your cars! Best of luck with this class.
Talia
